Dear George,

You won’t believe this! We’re grounded. The school called about us missing today. Mom took the call and she grounded us. I say we should bust her. How dare she—acting like we hadn’t caught her! When she got off the phone, she acted all mad. Well, I guess she was, because now we know the truth. Randy convinced us to save our blackmail moment for another time, but I’m not so sure. I think the longer we wait, the harder it’ll be.

It’s funny, though. I see Dad in a totally different light. Well, not totally. I’ve always been a little afraid of him. He’d sooner yell than talk. But it must be hard for him if he knows Mom is a cheat and liar. But then again, why don’t they just get a divorce? Staying together for the sake of the kids sure as hell isn’t working.

Well, I’m going to sleep and try to dream about the one good thing in my life.
